Dr Rizvi is a distinguished professor of pharmaceutical and biomedical sciences and a recognized leader in clinical and translational research. His passion for advancing medical innovation, coupled with his extensive experience in industrial, academic, and health care settings, make him an exceptional fit to lead JMIR Biomedical Engineering into a new era of growth and impact.

With over 26 years of experience and over 250 peer-reviewed publications (cited over 5,200 times), Dr Rizvi’s contributions have been featured across prestigious journals, books, US patents, and presentations. He also serves on the editorial boards and panels of different journals (in various capacities) and has reviewed manuscripts and books for over 200 scientific publications.
Dr Rizvi’s research focus spans a wide range of fields, including clinical trials, pharmaceutical formulations, nano- and micro-encapsulation of drugs, biotechnology, and digital tool development for health care. His commitment to fostering the next generation of biomedical engineers aligns perfectly with the mission of JMIR Biomedical Engineering.
